FIELD: video encoding and decoding technologies.
SUBSTANCE: inventions group relates to video encoding/decoding technologies. A method for decoding video in a decoder is proposed. The method comprises decoding, by the processor, the prediction information of the current block in the current picture from the encoded video bitstream, the prediction information indicating an inter-prediction mode, potentially using a refinement procedure based on the first reference picture and the second reference picture. Next, according to the method, it is determined, by the processor, whether the first condition of equal weighting of the chrominance components from the first reference image and the second reference image is satisfied. And also, the processor disables the refinement procedure when restoring the sample in the current block in response to the failure of the first condition for equal weighting of the chrominance components from the first reference image and the second reference image.
EFFECT: improving the efficiency of video decoding by using the inter-prediction procedure.
