FIELD: diagnostics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for cooling of a front side of a solid-state target towards a beam in the production of radionuclides on a charged particle beam of cyclotron. A flow of finely dispersed sprayed liquid, which gets on the front surface of the target, evaporates and removes a heat flow isolated in the target by the charged particle beam, is directed on the surface of the solid-state target simultaneously with the charged particle beam. Moreover, spraying performance is selected in such a way that a temperature of the front surface of the target is higher than a temperature of sprayed liquid saturation, but less than a temperature, at which a boiling mode is transferred into a film one.
EFFECT: increase in the performance of production of radionuclides in a target due to increase in the maximum current of a beam, using which the target can be irradiated without its destruction.
