FIELD: automobile wheels balancing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing threaded segments of a prefabricated quick-release nut for a threaded connection of a device for balancing automobile wheels. The method includes carrying out volumetric hardening and tempering of an annular workpiece of threaded segments and ion-plasma nitriding of the surface of the threaded segments, while the said workpiece of threaded segments is hardened to obtain a bulk hardness in the range of 25-30 HRC, then finishing final high-precision machining of the workpiece subjected to hardening and tempering is carried out to obtain threaded segments and carry out ion-plasma nitriding of the threaded segments to obtain a protective nitrided coating with a thickness equal to half the thickness of the protective nitrided coating of the steel threaded shaft of the specified threaded connection, and a hardness in the range of 55-65 HRC, and the said thickness of the protective nitrided coating of the steel threaded shaft is 0.3-0.4 mm.
EFFECT: increase the service life of the threaded segments of the quick-release nut assembly in the conditions of erosion and corrosion.
