FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in manufacturing non-toxic contrast MRI agents. Nanoparticles of iron oxide, with the surface whereof a hydrophobic ligand - oleic and/or stearic acid is in a coordinate bond, undergo an interaction with a hydrophilic zwitterion ligand in a two-layer solvent containing an organic layer and an aqueous layer, in the presence of a phase transfer catalyst selected from salts of tetrabutyl ammonium, trioctylmethyl ammonium, benzyldimethyloctadecyl ammonium, and/or benzyltributyl ammonium. The first solution containing a desiccant is prepared at 150 to 190°C, and the second solution containing an iron complex with said fatty acid is prepared at 0 to 120°C. At least one of said solutions contains a surface-active agent from the group consisting of C10-22 fatty alcohols, C10-22 fatty acids, and C10-22 fatty amines. The first solution is sustained at 150 to 190°C, and the second solution is added thereto by drops, resulting in a mixed solution, the components whereof interact at 150 to 190°C, resulting in the production of said iron oxide nanoparticles.
EFFECT: invention allows for an increase in the output of the target product, reduction in the agglomeration of particles, reduction in the number of reagents and the duration of the process.
