FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: method for the extraction of volatile organic acids from solid potassium salts from a fermentation extract of biomass, obtained from a process of fermentation of side products of the sugar industry, including potassium salts of the specified volatile organic acids, is proposed, where a fermentation medium has pH regulated by the addition of a base including potassium hydroxide. The specified method includes: a) obtaining a fermentation extract from fermentation broth of biomass by separation of the fermentation extract from biomass, b) addition of sulfuric acid to the fermentation extract in amount sufficient to form an acidified fermentation extract and to cause precipitation of a mixture of potassium salts, c) drying of the mixture of precipitated potassium salts and acidified fermentation extract of the stage b), which leads to evaporation of volatile organic acids contained in the acidified fermentation extract of the stage b), and d) extraction of i) the dried mixture of potassium salts of the stage c) and ii) evaporated volatile organic acids from acidified fermentation extract by condensation of vapors of the stage c). A mixture of potassium salts for use as an agricultural fertilizer, obtained by this method, is proposed. The use of a mixture of solid potassium salts, obtained by this method, as a fertilizer in agriculture is also proposed. A method for fertilizing the soil for growing plants includes the introduction of a fertilizer containing a mixture of solid potassium salts, obtained by this method, before, during or after growing plants.
EFFECT: inventions allow for extraction of mixtures of potassium salts by precipitation with a high potential for use as a fertilizer in agriculture, while facilitating the extraction of chemicals obtained during fermentation of biomass.
