FIELD: information technologies.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means for the formation of a binary image data flow providing an adaptive three-dimensional representation of a scene. A set of image parts and related depth data, which is a scene from different viewing poses, are stored. Prediction measures for image parts are formed, wherein the prediction measure for the first image part for the first viewing pose indicates a prediction quality assessment of an image part for a viewing window of the first viewing pose based on the first subset of image parts, not containing the first image part. The second subset of image parts of the set of image parts is selected in response to prediction measures. A binary image flow is formed, containing image data and depth data from the second subset of image parts. Moreover, the selection includes the selection of a set of adjacent image parts in response to the determination of that the set of adjacent image parts forms an area with a prediction measure lower than the first threshold value for an inner part of the area and a prediction measure higher than the second threshold value for a boundary part of the area.
EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of formation of an image data flow.
