METHOD FOR PREDICTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF RELAPSE IN THE MEDICAL TREATMENT OF GRAVES' DISEASE Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC G01N33/49

Abstract RU 2778614 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely endocrinology, and can be used to predict the development of relapse in the medical treatment of Graves’ disease. Blood sampling and examination are carried out. The percentage of T-regulatory cells: CD3+CD4+CD127lowCD25hi and activated B1 lymphocytes: CD19+CD5+CD23+ is determined in patients immediately after diagnosis using the flow cytometry method. After that, the activation coefficient of B1 cells (B1KA) is calculated, which is the ratio of the percentage of activated B1 lymphocytes to the percentage of T-regulatory cells. With a value of B1KA equal to or higher than 0.018, the development of relapse is predicted with the drug treatment of Graves’ disease. With B1KA below 0.018, the development of persistent and long-term remission.

EFFECT: method provides the possibility of early prediction of the development of relapse in the medical treatment of Graves’ disease (within 1 hour after diagnosis) using equipment common in clinical diagnostic laboratories, since invasive intervention is limited to a single intake of a small volume of blood from a vein (200 µl is enough), and a high level of reliability of the prognosis by determining the percentage of T-regulatory cells and activated B1-lymphocytes by flow cytometry.
