FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, namely ophthalmology. To perform crosslinking of corneal collagen in keratoconus of stages I or II, de-epithelization is performed in the area of ectasia with a diameter of 4-6 mm. The cornea is saturated with riboflavin solution for 30 minutes and UV radiation is applied to the cornea for 30 minutes with a power of 3 mW/cm2. Throughout the procedure, an anesthetic with benzalkonium chloride is instilled every 5-10 minutes. Exposure to UV radiation is carried out in the 9 mm zone of the cornea.
EFFECT: method reduces the time of epithelization with maximum impact on the pathological area of the cornea by reducing the area of the de-epithelized surface.
