METHOD FOR PREDICTING DIABETIC MACULAR EDEMA AFTER INTRAVITREAL ADMINISTRATION OF A DEXAMETHASONE IMPLANT Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61B5/00 A61F9/07

Abstract RU 2778970 C1

FIELD: ophthalmology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ophthalmology and can be used to predict diabetic macular edema after intravitreal injection of a dexamethasone implant. Perform the determination in the parafoveal zone of the central retinal thickness (CRT) of the light sensitivity of the retina in the parafovea before and 3 months after the introduction of the dexamethasone implant, namely the thickness of the retina (RT) of the upper segment of the parafovea to IVI-ID; RT of the lower segment of the parafovea to IVI-ID; TS of the temporal segment of the parafovea to IVI-ID; RT of the lower segment of the parafovea 3 months after IVI-ID; RT of the nasal segment of the parafovea 3 months after IVI-ID; photosensitivity (PS) of the upper segment of the parafovea 3 months after IVI-ID; PS of the lower segment of the parafovea 3 months after IVI-ID; PS of the nasal segment of the parafovea 3 months after IVI-ID; PS of the upper segment of the perifovea 3 months after IVI-ID; PS of the temporal segment of the perifovea 3 months after IVI-ID, the obtained data are substituted into the original formula and the CTS is calculated. With a CTS value of more than 320 mcm, macular edema is predicted, which will occur 6 months after IVI-ID.

EFFECT: method allows for the development and optimization of a diagnostic algorithm for timely re-treatment of diabetic macular edema.
