DIAGNOSTIC METHOD FOR THE DEGENERATIVE STAGE OF RETINAL ANGIOPATHY IN PATIENTS WITH HIV AND TUBERCULOSIS CO-INFECTION Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61B3/12

Abstract RU 2766808 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely ophthalmology, and can be used to diagnose the pre-degenerative stage of retinal angiopathy in patients with HIV and TB co-infection. Spectral optical coherence tomography is performed. At the same time, by means of spectral optical coherence tomography, the caliber of retinal arteries and veins of the first order is measured twice with an interval of six months at a distance of 0.5-0.75 of the disc diameter from the edge of the optic nerve disc, and retinal arteries and veins of the second order are measured at the site of their first bifurcation, as well as retinal thickness measurement in the macular region. If a decrease in the caliber of vessels and a decrease in the thickness of the retina are recorded, while the difference in the average values of the corresponding retinal arteries of the first order is at least 12%, retinal arteries of the second order at least 11%, retinal veins of the first order at least 13%, retinal veins of the second order at least 15%, and the decrease in the thickness of the retina in the macular region occurs by 3.5-6.4% of the initially measured and reaches the indicators corresponding to the norm, then the pre-degenerative stage of retinopathy is diagnosed.

EFFECT: method provides the determination of the pre-degenerative stage of retinal angiopathy in patients with HIV and tuberculosis co-infection due to the prognostically significant characteristics of retinal vessels.
