FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to furnaces for annealing plane glass. The furnaces are fitted with several heating and cooling elements in the direction of movement of the glass. Each heating or cooling element has multiple separate radiating sectors in the direction of the width of the glass. The given value (Sj) of heating or cooling power of each radiating sector is balanced (Sj') by the regulating (R) system. The regulating system balances the effect of the signal output by the glass temperature measuring element taking into account the heating or cooling effect of the glass of adjacent radiating sectors relative the glass measurement points. The regulating system has a computing unit and receives at the input given values Si from the temperature regulator of different sectors and is programmed to output a given value (Sj') used for regulation and having a value: , where the angle αji at which from the point Pj of the glass strip the radiating sector I is visible, and Aj is equal to the sum of angles at which different radiating sectors are visible from the viewed point of the glass strip.
EFFECT: lower stress in the glass during its cooling by controlling longitudinal and transverse distribution of temperature in the glass.
