FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering. According to the method, a switching device with remote control is installed in the line at a maximum or slightly shorter distance from it to the most distant short circuit point, which ensures the sensitivity of this protective switching device to short circuits. A switching device without the ability to turn off the short circuit current is installed in power lines and equipped with current, voltage, position sensors and communication means. The current flowing through the switching device, the voltage on both sides of it, the position of the switching device are controlled. The fact of short-circuit current flow through the switching device is recorded, a signal is transmitted to turn off the protective switching device at the beginning of the line. The protective switching device is switched on again after a predetermined dead time, sufficient to turn off the switching device in the line, the switching device in the line is turned off during the dead pause and the possibility of turning it on is blocked.
EFFECT: reducing the time of interruptions in the power supply of consumers, as well as increasing the observability of the electrical network and its controllability.
