FIELD: optics.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method for the manufacture of photo-absorbing contact lenses and photo-absorbing contact lenses obtained using it. The method contains: (a) provision of a mold assembly consisting of a base curvature and a front curvature, while base and front curvature form and cover a cavity between each other, and the specified cavity contains a reaction mixture, wherein the specified reaction mixture contains at least one polymerizable monomer, a photo-initiator, which absorbs radiation at an activating wavelength, and a photo-absorbing compound, which represents absorption at the activating wavelength; and (b) curing of the reaction mixture to form a photo-absorbing contact lens by exposure of the reaction mixture to radiation, which includes the activating wavelength. In this case, the specified radiation is directed both to the base curvature and to the front curvature of the mold assembly. In addition, radiated radiation energy at the base curvature exceeds radiated radiation energy at the front curvature, wherein radiated energy is regulated using the radiation intensity, and the intensity at the base curvature is less than 350 percent higher than the intensity at the front curvature.
EFFECT: obtaining contact lenses containing a photo-absorbing compound, optical parameters of which are improved compared to both unilateral curing and non-differential bilateral curing, while properties of lenses depend less on curing conditions, such as time, temperature, as well as intensity and wavelength of radiation.
