FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metallurgy, namely, to the production of a sheet of anisotropic electrotechnical steel used as a material for iron cores of transformers. Sheet of anisotropic electrotechnical steel, containing the main steel sheet, an intermediate layer other than forsterite located in contact with the main steel sheet, and an insulating coating located in contact with the intermediate layer, are subjected to the process of forming a deformation area on the surface of the main steel sheet by electron beam irradiation, wherein said deformation area extends in the direction crossing the direction of rolling of the main steel sheet. In the process of forming the deformation area, the central part of the deformation area in the direction of rolling of the main steel sheet and the direction of extension of the deformation area is heated to a temperature of 800°C or higher and 2,000°C or lower.

EFFECT: magnetic losses are reduced and adhesion of the insulating coating is high.
