FIELD: video surveillance.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to video surveillance. The method for automatically determining the statistical characteristics of dispersion of trajectories in the video surveillance field is characterized by dividing vehicles into types, filming one or more lanes of vehicles, selecting an image of each moving vehicle, selecting at least one characteristic point in the image of a moving vehicle, measuring the shift of the characteristic points of the car when passing through the video surveillance field, determine one statistical characteristic of the displacement of vehicle trajectories for each type of vehicle. At the same time, rules are formulated for determining special types of vehicles, the video surveillance field of digital cameras is calibrated, calibration data is entered into the composition of the reconstruction parameters of the video surveillance field perspective, video recording of one or several vehicle traffic lanes on the highway is carried out with a standard camera available in the traffic safety monitoring system, and storing the data stream in the memory of the data recording device, copying the digital video data into the memory of the device, and detecting periods in the recording of the data stream of the video camera.
EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of automatic determination of the statistical characteristics of the scattering of trajectories is achieved.
