FIELD: data processing; transportation.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to traffic control, namely to determination of vehicle speed. Method and system for determining vehicle speed consist in fact that image of road surface and vehicles located on it is formed using video camera, and with help of electronic computing device average path of vehicle is formed, and then with help of statistical analysis of data on vehicle position in projection on plane of road surface at moments of fixation of image frames resultant vehicle speed is estimated.
EFFECT: high accuracy of determining speed without restrictions on vehicle view of observation, simple design.
