FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: method of remote measurement and fixing the speed of vehicles relates to measurement equipment, particularly to the systems of remote control of vehicles speed. Method is in video monitoring for the transport situation on the road using a video camera installed at a certain angle of the place, selecting moving separate observation object located in the field of vision, implementation of preliminary measurement of calibration of longitudinal size of the frame with referencing the actual distance on the roadway to relative distance on the frame, periodic fixation of the image of the roadway, free of transport facilities, frame by frame capture of the roadway, followed by subtraction from the obtained frame image - image of the roadway, free of transport facilities, detecting a moving object at homogeneous color background of the differential frame, detection of the reference marks of a moving object, measurement of movement speed of the reference marks on the frame, averaging movement speeds of the reference marks on the frame, calculating speed of longitudinal movement of the object based on the averaged reference marks movement speed and pre-calibration of the longitudinal size frame. Video camera is placed on the side of the road, reference marks form the points of glowing circuit lighting fixtures of vehicles, generated by subtraction of two successive frames, relative distances on the frame are formed by the reference lines, speed of the object is determined by the section of the time corresponding to the difference in time of crossing of the selected points of the reference marks fixed distance between the selected reference lines transverse to the roadway, shifted along the roadway at fixed distance from 5 to 10 m, identification of the object is performed by extraction of pairs of luminous points on the reference line.
EFFECT: technical result provides to simplify the method of telemetric measurement and fixation of vehicles speed and to increase reliability of vehicle speed measurement.
