FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: method for isolation of sialic acid from fermentation broth is proposed. The method includes a stage of removal of biomass from fermentation broth. Then, the resulting clarified solution is subjected to treatment on a cation-exchanger and treatment on an anion-exchanger under conditions, at which sialic acid passes through ion-exchange material and is present in a passing flow. Then, a stage of removal of salts by electrodialysis is carried out.
EFFECT: invention allows for obtaining sialic acid with a high degree of purity, with quality suitable for use in the food industry, and on an industrial scale during one cycle.
