SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means for encoding video. A sample of the brightness of the prediction is generated. A displayed prediction brightness sample based on the prediction brightness sample is generated. Information related to the display of brightness with chromaticity scaling (LMCS) is generated, based on the displayed prediction brightness sample. A residual brightness sample based on the displayed prediction brightness sample is generated. The residual information is output based on the residual brightness sample. Image information is encoded, including LMCS-related information and residual information. Additionally, a reconstructed brightness sample is generated based on the predicted brightness sample. The index of the piecewise function is derived based on the LMCS-related information. A modified restored brightness sample is generated based on the restored brightness sample and the piecewise function index.
EFFECT: increase in the coding efficiency.
