FIELD: image encoding means.
SUBSTANCE: image information including luma mapping with chroma scaling (LMCS) information and residual information is encoded. LMCS-related information includes bin information for the LMCS. Minimum bin index and the maximum bin index are derived based on the bin information. Displayed value indexed by 0 is equal to 0 and the displayed values indexed by indices from 1 to 16 are output based on LMCS codewords. Display index is derived based on the prediction luminance samples. Mapped prediction luminance sample is generated using the mapped value indexed by the mapping index. Inverse mapping index is derived based on the displayed values indexed by the bin indices, from the minimum bin index to the maximum bin index, and the modified reconstructed luminance sample is generated using the mapped value indexed by the inverse mapping index.
EFFECT: high efficiency of encoding images.
