FIELD: biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology, namely, to a chimeric porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) virus. Proposed is a chimeric porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) providing immunity against the PRRSV infection. The virus contains a polynucleotide consisting of a structural formula where the polynucleotide constitutes the chimeric virus genome: 5′-[X]-[Y]-3′, wherein [X] constitutes a gene fragment produced by processing the genome of the mutant strain LMY ver2 under the registration number 13394 BP with AscI and PacI restrictases; [Y] constitutes a gene fragment produced by processing the genome of the mutant strain BP2017-2 under the registration number 13393 BP with AscI and PacI restrictases. Proposed is a vaccine composition against the porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus.

EFFECT: chimeric PRRSV according to the invention is weaker than the original strain thereof, therefore the virus stimulates the secretion of neutralising antibodies while having low pathogenicity and high stability, therefore being usable as a vaccine in the effective prevention and treatment of PRRS-associated diseases.
