FIELD: nuclear technology.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an apparatus and a method for assembling a graphite sealing ring of a step-position sensor of the control rod of a nuclear reactor. Apparatus comprises fasteners (1), an upper sector block (2), a semi-ring washer of the lower sector block (3), a lower sector block (4) located rotatably relative to the upper sector block (2), a clamp of the upper sector block (5), a torsion spring (6), a clamping shaft (7), a clamp of the lower sector block (8), a semiannular washer of the upper sector block (9), thrust plates (11), a semiannular stepped sleeve of the upper sector block (12), and a peripheral closed plate of the upper sector block (15). In the method, the step-position sensor is placed in the centre of the apparatus, the upper sector block (2) is rotated clockwise, the apparatus is clamped on the sensor, the upper sector block (2) is rotated counterclockwise, and the apparatus is separated from the step-position sensor.

EFFECT: prevented entry of foreign elements into process systems; reduced risk of mechanical damage to the working personnel.
