FIELD: railway rails.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a mechanized track tool for the repair and maintenance of railway rails. The drilling unit is designed to perform the main technological operation for precise drilling of holes for butt bolts in rails of normal and increased hardness at track repair enterprises. The drilling unit comprises a table on which the drilling block is installed, a base plate fixed on the table and made with holes, three holes on each side of the drilling block. The location of the holes in the plate corresponds to the location of the bolt holes on one and the other end of the processed rail. The unit also contains guide plates fixed on the base plate and six locking pins installed in the holes of the base plate with the possibility of vertical movement and rigid fixation relative to the base plate, and clamping mechanisms made in the form of a vertical rail clamp device and a horizontal rail clamp device.

EFFECT: increases the efficiency of drilling operations, the accuracy, reliability and safety of drilling holes in the rails due to the precise positioning of the rail relative to the drilling unit.
