FIELD: railway transport.

SUBSTANCE: method for processing of railway rails is intended for manufacture of rail cuts with the implementation of the primary process operation. The production line for processing of railway rails contains a drilling unit for drilling bolt holes, a rail cutting machine, and a set of devices for placing rail cuts, installed in series and interconnected into the process train by lifting devices and mechanisms for axial feeding of rails. The set of devices for placing rail cuts is designed with the possibility of storing them according to the standard sizes. Electric drives of axial rail feed mechanisms are designed to change the speed of rail movement. The line is equipped with a machine for drilling holes in the rails for installing connectors and a machine for processing chamfers in the holes.

EFFECT: expansion of production line's functionality, accuracy, reliability, and safety of drilling butt holes in open production areas, ability to cut rails and drill holes for installing connectors in rails without readjusting the production line, ability to accumulate, sort, and issue the finished products.
