FIELD: fire protection.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a flame-retardant composition for obtaining a flame-retardant coating that can be used in the construction of industrial facilities, including the chemical industry, for fire protection of metal structures operated in an open atmosphere. A composition is proposed for the manufacture of a flame-retardant swelling coating, which contains epoxy resin, epoxy resin modified with epoxyphosphazene, amine-type hardener, melamine, ammonium polyphosphate, pentaerythritol, borate phosphate, fiberglass, BS-120, titanium dioxide with the following component ratio, wt. %: epoxy resin 15-21, epoxy resin modified with epoxyphosphazene 5-10, amine type hardener 8-16, melamine 8-10, ammonium polyphosphate 25-30, pentaerythritol 8-10, borate phosphate 5, glass fiber 3, white carbon black BS-120 2, titanium dioxide 7.
EFFECT: flame-retardant swelling composition and a coating based on it with a low content of halogens in the composition of halogen-containing compounds (less than 1.5%), which has increased flame-retardant efficiency due to an increase in the degree of swelling of the coating due to exposure to high temperatures.
