FIELD: sewage sludge processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of processing sewage sludge, in particular excess activated sludge, with subsequent disposal as fertilizer to improve the fertility of land for various purposes. The method for processing excess activated sludge includes mixing excess activated sludge with peat, granulating the resulting paste-like mixture, and drying the obtained granules. At the mixing stage, granulated, dehydrated peat with a moisture content of up to 10% is used, through which the excess activated sludge is simultaneously dehydrated until an average moisture content of 35-50% is reached. At the granulation stage, excess activated sludge is simultaneously disinfected from pathogenic microflora, as well as additional dehydration of excess activated sludge until an average moisture content of 25-30% is reached by heating the mixture to 90-110°C while forcing through a press granulator made with electric heating.
EFFECT: use of the invention makes it possible to create a universal and efficient technology for processing excess activated sludge, which provides for an increase in the number of stages carried out simultaneously, combined with each other, a decrease in the number of units of energy-consuming equipment and an increase in the functionality of its use, as well as a decrease in the amount of peat used in the processing process.
