FIELD: engine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to head (10) of a cylinder for closing combustion chamber (12) of an internal combustion engine. Head (10) of the cylinder includes at least one recess (20) in heat insulation material, which is made in main case (14) of head (10) of the cylinder and is located between fluid channel (18) and cooling channel (16). Recess (20) in material can be easily made, for example, directly during shaping (for example, casting or printing) of head (10) of the cylinder, and/or after shaping.
EFFECT: in case, when exhaust gases are supplied through a fluid channel, significantly less heat transfer from hot exhaust gases to cooling fluid occurs, while thermal isolation by means of recess (20) in material leads to that hot exhaust gases are weakly cooled in the fluid channel.
