FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to clinical and laboratory diagnostics, and can be used to predict the risk of severe COVID-19. The patient's triglyceride (TG) level is determined, as well as clinical and anamnestic data: waist circumference (WC), the presence of type 2 diabetes mellitus and age. The data obtained are evaluated using a scoring scale: detection of TG≥150 mg/dl (1.7 mmol/l) - 0 points, TG<150 mg/dl (1.7 mmol/l) - 5 points; WC<102 cm in men or < 88 cm in women - 0 points, WC≥102 cm in men or ≥ 88 cm in women - 4 points; the absence of type 2 diabetes mellitus - 0 points, the presence of type 2 diabetes mellitus - 5 points; age < 55 years - 0 points, age ≥ 55 years - 1 point. The points obtained are summed up. With a score of ≤ 5 points, a low risk is judged, and with a score > 5 points, a high risk of developing a severe course of COVID-19 is judged.
EFFECT: method enables non-invasive, affordable and inexpensive assessment of the risk of developing a severe course of COVID-19 in men and women, which can be used to determine the tactics of patient management and early prevention of complications of coronavirus infection in the risk group, by determining the level of TG and clinical and anamnestic data: WC, presence of type 2 diabetes mellitus and age; and evaluation of the obtained data using the scoring scale developed in the claimed method.
