FIELD: aircraft engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of aircraft engineering and can be used in developing constructive measures for the prevention of entry of foreign objects in the air intake of an aircraft at the takeoff and landing stages. The stated technical result is achieved due to the direction of movement of the foreign object being taken into account; wherein additionally, based on the recorded time intervals of the flight of the foreign object through the first and the second sensors, and the cosine of the angle of approach of the foreign object determined using a calculator, the speed of the foreign object is additionally determined with account to the direction of movement thereof using the calculator and output to an additionally introduced indicator.
EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of determining the speed of entry of a foreign object into the air intake of an aircraft.
