FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of experimental medicine, namely to the prevention of infectious diseases, concerning the use of bacteriophage preparations to prevent the development of cholera in experimental animals. The essence of the invention lies in the fact that for the prevention of the development of experimental cholera before infection with virulent strains of cholera by introducing into an isolated loop of the small intestine 1×109 cells of a mixture in a ratio of 1:1 of 24-hour cultures of Vibrio cholerae, biovars El Tor and Classical 01 serogroup grown in peptone water and suspended in 1 ml of peptone solution, rabbits weighing 1.5-2 kg are intragastrically injected through a gastric catheter with a mixture of Rostov-M3, 5×108 PFU/ml, and Rostov-13, 2×108 PFU/ml in a 1:1 ratio with a volume of 3 ml for 3, 5 or 7 days.
EFFECT: invention provides an effective way to prevent cholera.
