SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely, to endocrinology, and can be used for rapid prediction of the risk of fatal outcome in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in combination with the novel coronavirus infection using laboratory and instrumental testing. For a patient with type 2 diabetes, the glucose level and saturation are determined in the blood, and the lung lesion area is determined in thoracic CT. If a combination of such factors as a lung lesion area over 45.8%, a saturation below 90.12%, a blood glucose level above 7 mmol/l is found, a fatal outcome is predicted in patients with type 2 diabetes from the novel coronavirus infection.

EFFECT: possibility of rapid prediction of the risk of fatal outcome in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in combination with the novel coronavirus infection due to the use of significant diagnostic criteria: blood glucose level, saturation, and lung lesion area.
