SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to video or image encoding based on the conversion of a brightness signal with scaling of a chromaticity signal. Proposed is a method for decoding images, implemented by means of decoding equipment. The method includes the stages of obtaining image information, including the prediction mode information and the shape change information, from a bit stream; forming prediction samples of brightness signals of the current block based on the prediction mode information; then, according to the method, extracting the prediction samples of brightness signals with the changed shape based on the shape change information and the prediction samples of brightness signals; and forming a restored frame based on the prediction samples of brightness signals with a changed shape.

EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of encoding/decoding images.
