FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the oil and gas industry, namely to the production of composite proppant used in oil and gas extraction by hydraulic fracturing. The method includes preliminary heat treatment of feed stock and additives, their grinding, granulation in a granulator mixer with a bowl rotating in different directions and a rotary stirrer, drying at a temperature of 110-550°C and sieving of dried granules, firing of dried granules at a temperature of 900-1600°C and sieving of burnt granules into commercial fractions, cladding of the surface of the proppant with at least one layer of cured polymer composition. Ash and slag waste or fly ash are used as feed stock. During granulation, at least two layers of bauxite are applied to the formed granule. The cladding of the surface of the granules is carried out after their heat treatment.
EFFECT: composite proppant of low density and high strength is provided.
