FIELD: oil and gas production.

SUBSTANCE: in method of proppant production, particles of which have density 1.5-4.0 g/cm³ and hardness not less, than 4, there are used at least two different types of slag of industrial production; said types of slag are crumbled before or after their mixing; produced mixture of slag powders is mixed with crumbled bauxite or crumbled alumina at ratio mixture of slag powders : crumbled bauxite or crumbled alumina 7:3 by weight; it is granulated and baked to sintering at temperature from 1300 to 1600°C. Proppant produced by the described method is used for hydraulic break of a formation at stresses provoking healing of ruptures up to 15000 psi. The invention is developed in dependant claims.

EFFECT: production of proppant of high operation properties and low prime cost.
