FIELD: hydrostatic transmission.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device and method for controlling a hydrostatic transmission. The method for controlling the motor-transmission unit of an industrial tractor consists in simultaneously changing the position of the swash plate of the hydrostatic transmission and the position of the ICE fuel supply pedal. For this purpose, a pressure sensor is additionally installed in the design, which continuously measures the pressure in the high-pressure line of the GOP and sets the flow rate of the GOP pump according to the formula: , where U is the relative parameter of the GOP pump regulation; a, b - coefficients of approximation of the economical characteristics of the internal combustion engine; ω - frequency of rotation of the crankshaft of the internal combustion engine; P - pressure in the high pressure line of the GOP; q is the volumetric constant of the GOP pump, so that the internal combustion engine is constantly operating according to an economical characteristic.

EFFECT: reduction in fuel consumption is achieved and the maximum speed is provided at a given level of process power.
