FIELD: information technologies.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to information technologies, in particular to information systems that deliver media content to remote locations with limited communication line capacity. A distributed system for delivering media content over IP networks is proposed. A distributed system for delivering media content over IP networks is proposed. The system contains streamer servers, an nginx web server, a static client server, and a client module. The streamer server, connected by one-way communication with the transcoder, contains temporary file storage, transcodes the incoming MPEG-TS video stream and repackages the transcoded stream into HLS to save the cache to temporary file storage, includes proxy-helper and proxy-checker, and also the Redis cache store. Nginx web server connected to the API, which provides the ability to connect clients and return prepared content. The API is configured to redirect the client to that streamer server from a plurality of servers, which is geographically closest to all other streamer servers, while the server locations are divided into CDN zones.
EFFECT: providing content delivery in a limited communication line due to the fact that the API component redirects the request from the client to the streamer server that is closest to the given client location area.
