FIELD: electrical communication engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to streaming data transmission. Technology is proposed to support dynamic adaptive streaming over hypertext transport protocol (DASH). Quality score can be defined on network device for each of plurality of media content segments in given representation, which are described in media presentation description (MPD) file. In given representation, media content segments can be identified in which certain quality score is below selected threshold. Identified segments of media content can be replaced by corresponding media content segments from another representation described in MPD file to generate modified MPD file in which quality index of corresponding media content segments is higher than selected threshold in order to provide substantially constant quality reproduction of media content segments in given representation.

EFFECT: technical result is to ensure required quality of media content reproduction.
