SUBSTANCE: inventions group relates to the field of fire extinguishing, namely to compositions for producing a fire extinguishing fire retardant gel used to extinguish fires, in particular fires of solid combustible materials, accompanied and not accompanied by smoldering, including lithium-ion batteries, and also to prevent re-ignition, localization and isolation of fires of combustible substances, including in low-temperature conditions in open and closed areas. The composition according to one of the options includes a potassium carbonate solution containing: potassium carbonate from 40 to 50 wt.%, water - the rest, and a magnesium chloride solution containing: magnesium chloride from 17.4 to 20 wt.% or its crystalline hydrate from 37 to 42.7 wt.%, water - the rest. According to the second version, the composition for producing a fire-extinguishing fire-retardant gel includes a potassium carbonate solution containing: potassium carbonate from 35 to 50 wt.%, propylene glycol from 3 to 8 wt.%, water - the rest, and a magnesium chloride solution containing: magnesium chloride from 12 2 to 24.9 wt.% or its crystalline hydrate from 26 to 53 wt.%, propylene glycol from 23 to 37 wt.%, water - the rest.

EFFECT: increasing the efficiency of environmentally friendly extinguishing, as well as preventing fire at low temperatures (up to -50°C) and expanding the temperature range of storage and operation of the composition to obtain a fire extinguishing fire retardant gel.
