FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to abdominal and thoracic surgery. Parallel to the left leg of the diaphragm, retreating laterally by 2 cm from it, the diaphragm is dissected throughout the entire left semicircle of the esophageal opening of the diaphragm. The formed flap of the diaphragm is sutured to the left crus of the diaphragm, and then to the right crus of the diaphragm with non-absorbable nodal ligatures, forming a posterior crurorrhaphy. A multilayer non-adhesive Proceed J&J - Ethicon mesh 3×3 cm in size is sewn into the formed diaphragm defect, fixed along the perimeter to the diaphragm with non-absorbable nodal ligatures so that it completely eliminates the defect and does not come into contact with the wall of the esophagus.
EFFECT: method ensures the creation of reliable fixation of the diaphragm legs during their stitching, prevents the development of adhesions in the abdominal cavity.
