SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the encoding of images using differences in motion vectors. The result is achieved by the fact that the prediction procedure can be performed for image/video encoding and the prediction procedure can include symmetric motion vector differences (SMVD) and motion vector differences of the unification mode (MMVD) in accordance with the interpretation. The inter-prediction can be performed based on the reference images of the current image, and the types (for example, long-term reference image, short-term reference image, etc.) of reference images can be taken into account for the inter-prediction.
EFFECT: increase in coding efficiency.
