SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the design of gaskets for flange joints of large diameter and can be used in installations and apparatus for operating at high temperatures and pressures, in particular, in the connectors of the main circulation pumps, reactors, heat exchangers and other equipment for thermal and nuclear energy, in the chemical and oil and gas industry and other branches of technology. The sealing gasket contains a sealing ring made of at least one layer of thermally expanded graphite, on at least one of the end surfaces of the sealing ring there is an overlay made in the form of a metal ring, which has at least one end surface located on the side opposite to the contact surface lining with a sealing ring is made with alternating concentric teeth and grooves, and at least on the end surface of the metal ring, opposite to the contact surface of the lining with the sealing ring, a layer of soft sealing material is applied. Concentric teeth and grooves of the end surface of the metal ring of the lining can be made with variable height. Obturators made of stainless steel can be installed along the inner and outer circumferences of the layer of soft sealing material applied to the metal ring of the lining. This design of the sealing gasket for the flange connection excludes the adhesion of thermally expanded graphite to the metal surface of the flange, as well as its movement along the metal surface of the flanges, and excludes the possibility of washing the thermally expanded graphite.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to ensure high elasticity of the gasket, as well as to increase the limiting pressure of the seals.
