FIELD: sealing facilities.
SUBSTANCE: layer for sealing of flanged connection has annular core provided with opening for passage of fluid, protrusions formed on end surfaces of core to define closed cavities for receiving of sealing annular members made from graphite tape. Annular core consists of flat annular member and two pairs of narrow rings arranged respectively along perimeter of outer and inner edges of flat annular member and connected therewith so as to define closed cavities for receiving of sealing annular members. Each of narrow rings is defined by bending strip onto rib and welding of its ends to one another.
EFFECT: reduced metal usage in manufacture of sealing layers and wider operational capabilities.
