FIELD: medicine; surgical dentistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to surgical dentistry and morphological studies in medicine; it is intended for conducting navigational trepan biopsy of jaw bones in the presence of structural changes in the jaw. A method for conducting navigational trepan biopsy of jaw bones consists in that optical impressions of plaster models of the dentition of the corresponding jaw are obtained in a patient who needs for trepan biopsy of jaw bones, and cone-beam computed tomography (hereinafter – CBCT) is conducted, the results of which are obtained in *.dcm format, the resulting impressions are translated into digital models in *.stl format and loaded into a virtual planning program together with CBCT data. After that, using the computer program for virtual planning of jaw bone biopsy, the tactics of conducting navigational trepan biopsy is planned, while determining the most accurate and safe direction of insertion of a trepan needle, with the capture of sufficient amount of material from a site of structural changes in the jaw, taking into account individual anatomical and topographic features of the patient’s jaw. Based on a virtual position of the trepan needle, a three-dimensional template model is created in the *.stl format, the model is loaded into a 3D printer, where it is printed out from photopolymer resins. Then, the resulting template model is processed, supporting elements are removed, placed in an alcohol bath, dried, a metal guide sleeve is installed in a hole modeled in the program for conducting navigational trepan biopsy, a direction of which corresponds to a virtually pre-planned trajectory of trepan needle insertion in the area of interest of structural changes in the jaw. Then, the final polarization of the template is carried out in a UV chamber and sterilized in an autoclave at 134 degrees. After that, adequate anesthesia of the operation field is performed, the navigation template is fixed on the dentition of the corresponding jaw, and then the trepan needle is inserted into the guide metal sleeve, and the needle is inserted into the jaw section to the planned depth by screwing movements for 90 degrees clockwise and 90 degrees counterclockwise. Then the trepan needle is extracted, the resulting biopsy is fixed in a formalin solution and sent for morphological study.

EFFECT: method allows for effective, high-precision, and safe navigation trepan biopsy of jaw bones.
