FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of agriculture, in particular, to poultry farming, and can be used to assess the readiness of quail embryos for hatching. Eggs are collected and opened when transferred for hatching. After that, visual assessments are made: of the pipping stage on a 3-point scale and of the proportion of retraction of the yolk sac by the embryo on a 10-point scale, followed by calculating the arithmetic mean values thereof. The readiness of the embryo for hatching is then determined by the claimed formula.
EFFECT: possibility of assessing the readiness of quail embryos for hatching more fully by evaluating the most significant indicators — the pipping stage and the proportion of retraction of the yolk sac.
