SUBSTANCE: electric power industry for the organization of fiber-optic communication lines of protection with the protection of overhead electrical networks from direct lightning strikes.
EFFECT: increase in the resistance of a lightning protection cable with a fiber-optic communication cable to crushing loads and a lightning strike. The lightning protection cable is made of steel wires, twisted according to the type of strip touch. 2-3 concentric layers are made around the fiber-optic communication cable with the same number of wires in the layer, twisted in the same direction and with the same lay pitch. According to the second option, the central part is wound in a separate process operation and consists of 4-10 steel wires, twisted by strip contact type around the fiber-optic communication cable. The resistance to crushing of the lightning protection cable at the same time is 1.5-2 kN/cm.
