FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method of manufacturing of a lightning protection cable with an optical communication cable, the diameters of galvanized steel wires are selected by layers, based on formation of an "arched effect" in the first and the second layers and ensuring linear contact of the wires during laying. In the method, nine wires of the first layer and nine wires of the second layer are laid around a central stainless steel tube containing optical fibres and a hydrophobic filler, as well as plastic compression of the wires of the second layer. The lay takes place in one direction with the same lay pitch and different lay angles for each layer of wires, and the lay between the first layer of wires and the central tube is performed with a gap equal to (0.069÷0.138)⋅δ1, whereδ1 is the nominal diameter of the wires of the first layer. Plastic compression of the wires of the second layer is performed with the degree of compression of the cross-sectional area of the first and second layers of 10.25-11.26%.
EFFECT: increased reliability and durability of the lightning protection wire, which ensures that the optical communication cable remains operational.
