SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to otorhinolaryngology. An audiological examination is carried out by the method for otoacoustic emission at the frequency of the distortion product (OAFDP) before firing a firearm. The age of the shooter, the Signal/noise value at a frequency of 4.2 kHz on the left, the value of otoacoustic emission at a frequency of 4.2 kHz on the left are taken into account. Then the probability of developing hearing loss (PDHL) is calculated according to the stated formula. With PDHL<0.5 there is low risk of hearing loss with noise exposure, with PDHL>0.5, high risk of hearing loss due to noise exposure.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to identify risk groups for the development of hearing loss in persons exposed to the noise of firearms.
