FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention is used in the field of electrical engineering for marking of wires and ground wires of overhead power lines (hereinafter – OL). A signal marker ball consists of two detachable hemispheres pivotally connected to each other and equipped with clamping jaws with holes for passage of wire. Inside the marker ball, springs are installed, pulling hemispheres to each other, as well as guard rods. Guard rods are made with the possibility of rotation, and they retain the second hemisphere at a distance from the first one. Wire coming into a space between spaced hemispheres of the marker ball and pressing on guard rods lead to rotation of guard rods, compression of springs, and connection of hemispheres to each other, as a result of which wire or ground wire is captured with hemispheres.

EFFECT: increase in the safety of mounting of a marker ball to OL wire, while reducing labor costs and reducing traumatism.
