FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metallurgy and can be used in scientific research in determining the required melting temperature of powder charge based on high-temperature chromium cast iron and P-0.66 flux with the optimal number of components. The method includes heating the crucible, uneven heating of the substrate and melting the mixture on it. Before determining the melting temperature of the mixture, a sample of a reference technological sample is additionally made from these components of the mixture with a known melting temperature. In excess of 100% of their mass, 2-4% of a 10% sodium silicate aqueous solution is added to the charge samples, the compositions are mixed and then sample samples of the same mass and geometric shape, with a cross section of 2-4 mm and a diameter of at least 5 mm are molded. The samples are placed on a metal substrate, heated until one of them melts, and the induction surfacing modes are set according to the visual state of the unmelted sample.
EFFECT: reducing the complexity of the method for determining the melting temperature of the surfacing mixture and simplifying the instrumentation for determining the melting temperature of powder multicomponent mixtures in the production of surface hardening of parts.
