FIELD: ultrasonic non-destructive testing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of ultrasonic non-destructive testing and can be used to calculate the error in determining the amplitude of the glare of a point reflector depending on the step of the image grid. The method does not analyze the image reconstructed by the method for digital focusing by an antenna (DFA) on a grid with a step equal to one twentieth of the ultrasonic wavelength, but calculations are carried out using a formula that describes the shape of the flare of a point reflector, represented as a two-dimensional gaussoid, the dimensions of which are determined by the beam and frontal resolution and with a rotation angle determined by the angle of the beam line from the center of the antenna array to the location of the point reflector.
EFFECT: more than a tenfold increase in the speed of calculating the error of the glare amplitude error of a point reflector over the entire image reconstruction area.
